My Trip to Luxembourg

I had the best time in Luxembourg with my friend Brooke, her family, and my mom. We arrived in Luxembourg on January 20th, since we had an overnight flight from Dallas to London on the 19th-then we took a short flight from London to Luxembourg. This was my first trip out of the country and the first time I'd been on a plane for more than 4 hours-and let me tell you, my mom and I were prepared with Chamomile and Sleepytime Tea, red wine, and several downloaded Ibooks. But of course, we passed out as soon as we finished watching The Equalizer, which was featured on the plane movie collection. Arriving in Luxembourg was surreal. The country is beautiful and full of unique homes, exceptional landscaping, and gorgeous buildings. While we were in Luxembourg, Brooke took us to Trier-which was only a short drive away, Grund, Luxembourg-which was the lower city, Mersch, and Downtown Luxembourg. Well, enough of my rambling-here are some photos from our amazing visit!

Grund, Luxembourg
In this photo, you can see the wall that separates Grund from the centre of Luxembourg City. Grund rests in a valley below the centre.
This house sat right in the middle of a cave wall. It was beautiful and so unique.
My mom and I in front of a small canal that ran through Grund. And, yes we are matching :) Since my mom is always super busy with work, she has a habit of sending me to buy things for her and once I bought this jacket for myself, I already knew she would want it as well.
The gorgeous view of Grund from the centre.

My friend Brooke and I. We met four years ago at Texas Tech, and we've been friends ever since! Miss you already!
Brooke and I had dinner with two of her friends that live near Luxembourg and my meal was awesome! I had a steak kabob and below was my apple crisp dessert. The flavors were amazing and my entire meal was so delicious.

Western Chic

Printed denim-check, faux fur vest-check, bright colored handbag-check! All of my favorite trends in one outfit can make this dreary day feel sunny and bright! Printed denim is a must buy because they can be worn all year around! I look forward to pairing these jeans with a crochet tank for a bohemian look. You all know I'm a master-in-training of disguise and experimenting with my own personal style.
I'm pretty daring when it comes to trying trends and new looks, but these boots are about as close as I'll get to cowboy boots. Yes, I am from Texas-home of the Cowboys, but I'm more of an over-the-knee, heeled boots kind of girl. No hate to my cowboy wearing girls out there! I love seeing a flirty, summer dress paired with distressed cowboy boots. I'm sure I'll give it a try someday-but for now, I'll stick to these Vince Camuto boots.

As I sit here watching the entire Gossip Girl series for the 50th time, [no exaggeration] I can't help but admire the character, Blair Waldorf as a fashion icon. Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf was styled with such glamour and grace-and Queen B mastered the art of mixing different styles. If I'm sounding like a Gossip Girl super fan, it's because I am. The show's stylist and costume designer, Eric Daman, was a genius and his creations really brought each character to life. Watching the show definitely helped me find and mature my own personal style. And from my recent Gossip Girl marathon, I developed a few New Years resolutions to dress with a purpose, wear more skirts and dresses, and shop for even more unique pieces.

And one of those resolutions has always been a goal for me-shopping for unique pieces. I try to fill my closet with special pieces, whether it's a bold color, flattering silhouette, or over-the-top embellishments. And remember, these statement pieces do not have to be expensive, they just have to make an impression. I found this unique trench coat about a year ago. The texture is what sold me. The satin material adds richness to any outfit-even a pair of skinny jeans. And the girly peplum flare is so me!

When shopping for clothing that makes an impression, think of your personal style. Each unique piece should complement items you already own-but it should add a boost to your outfit. Find that neon pink blazer that turns your favorite white tee and black jeans outfit you've had on repeat into a showstopper.

Leopard and Leather

Leopard print is hands down my favorite print to wear! And this particular leopard print dress from ASOS is one that I continue to wear over and over again. You may even remember it from my New York post back in September. You know I'm a girl who loves trying different styles to get the most out of one piece. I was feeling a little edgy today and wanted to portray that with this outfit! To all my edgy fashionistas, I hope I made you proud! It's always fun to experiment with your style and trying different looks.

P.S. I received the best gift for Christmas, and it was the gift of being able to visit my best friend Brooke of Pieces of the Reese Life in Luxembourg! Be sure to check out her blog! She has the the most adorable and best dressed daughter that I am beyond excited to finally meet! I leave today and will be there for ten days-so sorry in advance for the lack of posts! I can't wait to share my travels with you!

Underneath It All

I’ve always believed a girl’s outfit is only as good as her foundation. Even if you ask my mom, she’d say I’ve never been a Disney Princess undies kind of girl. I wanted frilly, floral, and bright colored undergarments (I was meant to be a girly girl). I obviously wanted to be fashionable underneath my clothes just as much as I wanted my outfits to accent my personality. I mean, I was the toddler who wouldn’t even go swimming in a onesie (because of course, I knew the difference between a onesie and a bathing suit). PS-Sorry mom for all the drama I gave you before age ten just for being a girly girl. Back to the subject, foundation is key-whether you’re a girly girl like me, super edgy, or a tomboy. You can look and feel amazing just from your undergarments. And with Valentine’s Day approaching, (I’m in a relationship and that “V” word still makes me cringe lol) I wanted to let you ladies know how important it is for you to feel sexy for YOURSELF. I know just how stressful shopping for that perfect Valentine’s Day dinner date outfit can be, but this year it doesn’t have to be! Here are a few of my favorite dresses and lingerie sets. But remember, this year is for you! I've put together three dress/lingerie sets for each category to match your individual style: Romantically Pretty, Uniquely Bold, and Daringly Sexy

Latest Fashion Find: Bobbi Brown Gets Shady

I had no idea Bobbi Brown released an eyewear collection until I found myself in Nordstrom, trying on a unique pair of sunglasses I’d never seen before. Once I looked on the inside of the sunglasses, I was surprised to see the Bobbi Brown logo. And let me tell you, it was a good surprise. I am obsessed with the famous cosmetic brand’s new venture. I tried on several different styles and 'The Rowan' cat eye sunglasses are by far, my absolute favorite. And I love how Bobbi Brown gives you tons of color options for each style. I already have 'The Rowan' in Black Nude and Pink Cream saved in my Nordstrom Wish List. Even though, I’m very biased towards a great cat eye; I have to admit, Bobbi Brown does square shaped lenses and aviators very well. Bobbi Brown is no stranger to transforming a woman’s natural beauty into ultimate glamour; but she has definitely outdone herself with this awesome collection. Below, is 'The Rowan'. Check out the rest of Bobbi Brown’s eyewear collection here!

These Boots Are Made For Walking

One of my favorite things to do when creating an outfit, is mixing girly pieces with more rugged, distressed pieces. The girly girl in me immediately fell in love with this embellished tank from Express, but I decided to give it a little bit of edge with my favorite distressed denim jacket and army green jeggings. Nothing's wrong with a full on girly or edgy look. I would definitely pair this tank with a tutu style midi skirt and white blazer. It's all about getting the most out of the pieces in your wardrobe. When shopping, you should always try to buy pieces that you can style at least three different ways. Remember savvy shopping is always in style!

Currently Craving

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I am an online shopping queen! I can't tell you how many items are just patiently hanging out in my multiple shopping carts. I have searched high and low for a white cross body bag, and this Rebecca Minkoff Avery Crossbody is the perfect size, shape, and the gold hardware really makes a statement. Ankle pants are my absolute favorite. They're super flattering for curvy body types and this pair from Topshop can be worn all year-round with the unique pattern and contrasting colors. And many of you already know, closed toe heels are a must for me! I am a short person who suffers from long-big toe-syndrome (that's a real thing right?). Well, whether it's a real thing or not, I'd rather keep my toes hidden. These pointed toe Joe's pumps are sleek, edgy, and come in a variety of colors. Can I have one of each please? Here are a few others that I'm so tempted to get:
