Style 101: How To Wear Leather In The Summer

One of my absolute favorite things to wear during the colder months of Texas is leather. It’s classic, sophisticated and adds a bit of sexiness to any outfit. No matter what, I’m always wearing a piece of leather during the winter. But lately, I’ve seen tons of leather and faux leather pieces for this current season. So, obviously everyone is just as obsessed with leather as I am but I know a lot of you ladies may be a little nervous to try this trend. Here are the three guidelines for wearing leather in the summer:

  • All leather worn in the summer must be short, whether it’s a short leather skirt or a short sleeved or sleeveless leather top.
  • The color of the leather has to be a soft, summery color. You can never go wrong with bright or pastel colors. Stay away from brown, black, grey, and any other dark color.
  • Pair your leather piece with a flowy top or loose fitting pants. Since leather is structured and makes quite a statement, you want to keep the rest of your outfit simple and casual.

With my particular outfit, I wanted to create a look that could be dressed up or down. The skirt and heels made the outfit dressy while my tee and denim jacket created a more relaxed look.

Hope you were inspired to try something new! xo
